Oops. Proud father Dakota Tremayne graciously points out that the webmaster was off by twenty-four hours in dating Madeline Jael's entry into the world. She was actually born Thursday, September 5. |

(Belated) Welcome! To Madeline Jael Tremayne, who joined us on Friday, September 6. Proud parents Dakota and Samantha Tremayne were valiant enough to bring Madeline to Sunday's baptismal feast less than 48 hours after she made her appearance. |

Portland. R.C. just returned from a very successful appearance this past weekend at the Ligonier regional conference in Portland; the theme was the attributes of God, R.C.'s topic was the simplicity of God. The Draught Horse Press guy was there as well, manning the Highlands Study Center information table and giving away Basement Tapes samplers (200 total) and copies of Every Thought Captive (300 total). The conference was well attended, and R.C.'s talk was well attended to—at least based on the post-talk response, when the HSC table was mobbed. We were especially pleased to meet up with some old friends in Portland. Which makes us look forward to our other Ligonier appearance later this fall, in Detroit. The theme will be predestination; R.C.'s topic will be "According to His good pleasure". If you're planning to attend, please make a point of stopping by the information table and saying hello. |

Subscription requests. Requests to have names added to the Every Thought Captive subscription list are still flowing in at a steady rate. But believe it or not, we also get the occasional request from someone to have their name removed from the list. The Mail List Guy generally responds by email with a brief and gracious "Done." But in the spirit of these times, he is considering extending this response to a well-wishing "Done. And may God have mercy on your soul." |

Bible Study. Tonight's session, the fifth of six on education, was particularly good. As well as a bit scary, since R.C. traced out the implications of his earlier teachings to logical but radical conclusions; they sounded radical, anyway, to these still-all-too-worldly ears. The theme running under it all was antithesis—how we fail to provide a biblical education to the extent that we fail to embrace antithesis, and how radically different our children's education would be if we fully embraced it. |

Tuesday. The Tuesday Night Bible Study is back. Tomorrow night R.C. will be presenting the fifth installment in his series on education. Since this series has been an especially good one, we hope to have the series available for purchase immediately after the sixth installment is presented next week. |
